Jesus' mother Mary was prophesied as being happy previously by Elizabeth in Luke 1:45 and by Mary herself in Luke 1:48 - why? - because she heard the word of/from God and kept-watch, which gave her the availability to become Jesus' mother. Jesus emphasizes and confirms this truth by explaining it and he expands it to include himself and everyone else who hears God's Word and keeps watch regarding it.
