Global Warming - It's Going To Get Hot!

2 Peter 3:10-13

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

The Coming One World Government

Revelation 17:12-14

12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

Friend and Friendship

What is a Friend or Friendship? The English words "friend" and "friendship" usually refer to the state or quality of two or more people being linked to each other by/with a loving affection.

In the Bible, a "friend" is someone who loves another with the brotherly or friendly kind of love. It refers to the way that we interact with one another during the everyday living of our lives. All of us who are Christians are requested by God to love each other with this love.

Friends watch out for one another to keep us safe from danger. We help and encourage one another. We invite our friends to important events. We love to preach the good message, the gospel, regarding the Lord Jesus Christ - and we do this with honor. We treat our families in a loving manner. We love people outside of our immediate family. We invite people as guests so that we can take care of them when the need arises. We love each other within the sphere of action of the belief/faith that God has given us to believe. We love the Lord Jesus Christ.

There are many references to this in the Bible and we have posted an article on True Bible Study Friendship that takes a look at the Greek words concerning Friend and Friendship.

US or Global Economic Collapse?

Psalm 37:25

25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

Romans 8:38-39

38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Bible Verses For Funerals

Many people are seeking for "bible verses for funerals."

Evidently, there were many Christians seeking information regarding this subject in the first century church as well, because the apostle Paul addresses what will happen to Christians after they have died or fallen asleep.

In the King James Version, the word "asleep" is used in reference to a Christian's death. In the future, Christians that have fallen asleep, will be awakened from their sleep.

Perhaps some of the most comforting Bible Scriptures appropriate for those seeking Bible verses for funerals, can be found in I Thessalonians Chapter 4.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

When a member of the Christian Family falls asleep, it important that we know the truth of God's Word regarding this hurtful event. Reading or teaching the above bible verses or scriptures should provide COMFORT to those affected. All Christians that have already fallen asleep will be raised from the dead at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We should not be ignorant - we should be comforted.

Funerals are for the living. These Bible verses should prove helpful to all those that are affected. Those who are responsible for sermons and teachings that occur at funerals, should find the above mentioned Bible verses as always appropriate at Christian funerals.

In the meantime, may we look forward to the promised return of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Oh ... is that a trumpet I hear?

Bible Verses on Faith

You may ask "What is faith?" The Greek word "pistis" can be translated as "faith" or "belief" - it is the information that God makes known to people to have confidence-in with assured certainty and surety.

God gives people His belief/faith when He tells people what they should believe (have faith in). Once God communicates His belief to us, then we are given the opportunity to have the same belief regarding that specific situation or circumstance – by believing (having faith-in, trusting) the contents of what God says, His words to us.

The Book of Hebrews has a wonderful verse to tell us how to receive God's faith, His belief.

Hebrews 11:6 (KJV):

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

This verse means that apart-from the information that God makes known to a person to have confidence-in with assured certainty and surety - a person does not have the ability to be agreeable, acceptable, and gratifying to God. It is not possible to well-please God without His belief.

How does a person receive God’s belief in order to be able to well-please God?
It is necessary for the person going towards God to believe that…
· God is (He exists in living reality right now while the person is going towards Him)
…and…
· God becomes the compensation payer (gives the wage) to the people seeking Him out (in the sense of looking to God for His response).

In order for a person to obtain God’s belief regarding a specific situation or circumstance, that person must first come towards God believing (having faith, trusting) that God is and that God becomes the compensation-payer to the people seeking Him out.

Yes - God is and God does pay back to those who seek after Him for His answers.

Encouraging Bible Verses

Maura, currently there are many people searching for "Encouraging Bible Verses". I thought we might start a topic within your blog that would help other Christians by providing Bible Scriptures that can provide encouragement and comfort.

A couple of Bible Verses that I find very encouraging and comforting can be found in the the book of Philippians chapter 4.

Philippians 4:6-7

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing
by prayer and supplication with
thanksgiving let your requests be made known
unto God. And the peace of God,
which passeth all understanding, shall keep
your hearts and minds through Christ
Jesus.

Your comments and explanations are always welcome.
